Helfer looked away, but nodded as Ubergard turned to go. “At least she didn’t try to take my blade,” Ubergard thought and looked back as she saw Helfer drink the healing potion. Then the Argonian turned back and returned the way she had come.

image

For her part, Helfer was not immune to the kindness Ubergard had shown her. The potion stopped the bleeding and the pain, but it did not restore her voice, though months later she would manage to regain a raspy imitation of it. Enough to communicate with, but she would never again Shout. But for now, as she watched the Argonian retreat and cross the stream, she regretted much that she had done.

image

But above all, she regretted that she had lost her sting. She was nothing now. She was an ant, and would be stepped on by the first person bigger than herself. With it, she could dream of equality with such as Ubergod. She could not do magic, above the very basest of spells. She could no longer Shout. She could never hope to match the Argonian physically – not with the most intensive training imaginable, even if she could find some way to obtain it. No, Ubergod was beyond her wildest dreams now, ant that she was.

image

She wept until she could weep no more as she watched Ubergard until the Argonian was out of sight. Then finally hunger brought her back to more practical matters.

image

She still had some skills, distasteful though they were to most. But fortunately for her, her own upbringing left no moral taint for whatever means to survive she had left. Surely in the town beside the bridge there was someone who needed… companionship. She began the walk back there. She would need to communicate somehow. She knew no letters. It would be difficult. But she still had her body, and it could speak for her until she found a better way.

image

And as she walked, a new idea sparked in her head. The bow. The arrow. Those were stings of a sort. A sort she could learn to use. It might take years, for she would have to become
very good at them. But it was hope. A slight smile rose on her lips. “Maybe someday,” she thought. “We may meet again, Ubergod. And maybe in time, you will love Helfer… or… not.”

image

She bore Ubergard no malice in her mad heart. Without a sting, she could not expect the giantess to love her. There could be no love, no respect, without something to equalize their stature. Perhaps archery or something similar could fill that void. And perhaps she would forget Ubergard someday. Maybe she would never rise to that level of ability. But she had hope again, and with hope there was a reason to live.

image

Crouching to spy out the village, she saw a man working in the mill. He did not look friendly, but he did look single. And strong. Large. She cared not if he was male or female. She had skills to please either. But his bulk was… inviting. She would soon find out what he thought about female Khajiits.

image

Since she couldn’t speak, she decided to leave her robe off and let her body do her talking. She was still damp, with mud and blood still clinging to her. She mentally became a stranger, nearly drowned as she had been swept over the waterfall, her voice lost by the accident.

image

Oh yes, it would be a hard man indeed to not be kind to such as her. As she approached, she waved to the man to catch his attention. And she began to limp…

Kitty stood beside Ubergard, looking at the rushing water below. “She jumped over! What happened?”

Instead of answering, Ubergard watched the water for a long time until, satisfied that Helfer was not going to reappear below, Ubergard explained briefly. Then both went to Mikael. A prick from her blade and he too fell to the ground but was soon back on his feet and asking questions.

image

“She is gone, but I do not know if she lives or not. She planned on forcing me to drop you over the bridge in frozen state, to lie on the bottom of the river forever.”

“Force YOU? How could she do that?” Kitty asked, disbelievingly.

“Another Shout. Some sort of Compel Shout. I could not break it, but I was able to use VirginDruung to break your frozen spell. It is magical, so I thought it might work.”

“Good thing! Otherwise…”

“Otherwise you’d be laying at the bottom of the river and I’d be trying to get to you. If I survived Helfer’s plans for me that is. But I have no idea what those were.”

image

“But, if she cast the freeze Shout on you, how did you break free?”

Ubergard looked down at her armor. “It did not work. My armor prevents cold from reaching me remember. I had no idea if it could withstand a Shout, but I had little choice. I just acted frozen until she ran past. Then I threw VirginDruung at her. I didn’t have time for anything else. The handle broke her throat in some way. She could no longer Shout.”

“Damned good throw, Ubergard!” Mikael praised her.

“You credit me too much, Mikael. It was a damned poor throw. I intended to cut off her head,” Ubergard said, returning to the side of the bridge and looking further downstream.

image

“Do you think she survived?”

Ubergard shrugged. “No idea. Probably not. Why don’t you two go on ahead. I’m going to scout out downstream. We don’t want her following us. Ever.”

Mikael looked at Kitty, both nodding approval.

“If we don’t see you before then, we’ll meet you at the inn in Morthal,” Mikael suggested.

“The Moorside Inn,” Ubergard confirmed. “I’ll meet you there.“

image

Kitty and Mikael continued on towards Morthal while Ubergard began following the river downstream, determined not to allow Helfer to escape if she still survived.

image

As the banks became smoother and it’s speed dwindled, she spotted a figure on the far bank. Pathetic now, it lay gasping and dripping mud and blood from it’s mouth. Helfer did not see her as she crossed the river until she was almost upon the wretched Khajiit.

image

Helfer did manage to crawl a few feet away before she realized the futility of any escape in her current state and resigned herself to the inevitable.

image

She then sat back, her throat laid bare for the stroke and a look of sad acceptance on her face as she closed her eyes tightly. Ubergard’s fury turned to pity at the creature on the ground in front of her now. She lowered her blade and knelt as Helfer waited, still coughing blood sporadically. "I cannot do it, Helfer. Here. Take this.”

image

Helfer opened her eyes and accepted a small red vial from Ubergard. Tears began streaming from her eyes now but otherwise she remained silent. Whether the vial contained the healing potion it appeared to, or a nasty poison, she accepted it from the giant Argonian as her fate.

image

“You are a murderer, Helfer, and would have done so again. But your life has been a hard one. I cannot be the person who ends it.”

Helfer looked up at her with something in her eyes that still looked like love to Ubergard. The Argonian bent to kiss the Khajiit. “I am sorry I can do no better, Helfer. This may not restore your voice. But it will keep you alive. Do not follow me. I will have to kill you. But you can make a new life here in Skyrim. You can forget what you were, what you have done. Worse people than you have managed that.”

image

CatDance #33

From a few steps away, Helfer called. “Alright, Ubergod. Now drop her over.”

Try as she might, Ubergard could not resist the command and began walking to the bridge’s raised wall with her inert burden. But as she turned, she turned a little sharply and felt the edge of her blade touch Kitty’s thigh.

image

The magical blade, always honed to a razor’s edge, did no more than nick the black latex, but the reaction was instant. Kitty’s form dropped from Ubergard’s hands, suddenly unfrozen as Kitty blinked at the sudden change. Ubergard knew she had only a second to get Kitty moving as she felt the compelling force to grab for the Khajiit and complete Helfer’s command. But she was not compelled to remain silent.

“KITTY! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE – NOW!”

image

Kitty ran.

On all fours it was only an instant before she was out of Helfer’s sight over the peak of the bridge. Helfer spat and Shouted again, this time at Ubergard to freeze her. “LIZ! SLEN! NUS!”

image

Ubergard froze as Helfer raced past her a few paces to the peak of the arch, Kitty now clearly visible running down the other side of the bridge.

image

“LIZ!”

image

“SLEN!”

image

Suddenly Helfer sensed movement behind her and turned around instinctively.

“*CRACK*”

image

Not having time to get within striking range, Ubergard had thrown her blade with all her strength, the blade spinning horizontally. The handle caught Helfer viciously in the throat and silenced her, bones cracking and vocal cords snapping.

image

She fell to the ground, spitting blood.

Ubergard got up and advanced on her, murder clearly on her mind.

The Khajiit was helpless now as she looked around desperately for something to help, but nothing appeared. She could not outrun Ubergard in her current state, she could not shout, and worst of all, she had no time.

image

Ubergard was steps away now. Helfer had one frantic moment of fear as she knew what she had to do. It was that or have this berserk Argonian throttle the life out of her. She took the only exit she could see. She ran and leapt off the bridge.

image

UUbergard watched her fall till she hit the water and was out of sight. From to her right, she heard Kitty calling as she returned, but Ubergard could not make out the words over the nearby noise from the waterfall.

image

CatDance #32

Everything began to happen in slow motion as Ubergard was blown back by Helfer’s shout. Helfer then turned to Kitty and began another Shout, “Liz! Slen!…”

However, Mikael ran to intercede while yelling at Kitty, “Kitty, RUN!”

“NUS!”

And instantly Mikael’s form was frozen into stasis.

image

At Mikael’s warning, Kitty had dropped to all fours and was running back across the bridge at top speed when Helfer stepped to the side and repeated her Shout. As she heard the last word, time stopped for Kitty as she too froze in complete paralysis. Meanwhile, Ubergard had gotten back to her feet and had her blade out running full speed towards Helfer, menace obvious in her face.

image

Helfer smiled at the onrushing Argonian and she again spoke arcane words without any apparent fear.

“Gol! Hah! Dov!” she Shouted, then added calmly. “Please stop now, Ubergod. Put away your blade. Be still.”

Ubergard stopped.

image

“You may speak, but do not move,” Helfer smiled as she stepped up to Ubergard. “This one regrets not being able to use magic properly. It has never come easy to me.” she said as she gingerly touched the scars on the side of Ubergard’s face. “Regrets also for this, my Ubergod. It was dark when I saw you on the mountain. You appeared to me to be my master, coming to slay me after he banished me to this cold land. He too is an Argonian. It was an accident that this one Shouted you off the edge. She rejoiced when she saw your female form still living below. Helfer did save you, you know.”

“What have you done to them?!” Ubergard demanded, though unable to move otherwise.

image

Helfer looked at the oddly positioned statues.

“Oh them? They are frozen, my Ubergard. No harm. Well, not yet.”

“You’d better not harm them or I will cleave your sad head from it’s neck, I swear it!”

“Helfer? Helfer would not hurt these two. They are little, like Helfer. It is large, powerful ones like you that hurt. Not poor Helfer! But you will hurt them. Oh yes, you will hurt them badly.”

“Helfer, it’s not too late. You can stop this. Release them and I’ll do whatever you ask!”

image

Helfer’s demeanor instantly turned back to the raging feline she had been moments before. “Too late, Ubergod! You could not love Helfer, you said! You think now you could, dear Ubergod? Helfer does not believe this. But this does not matter. You will not matter soon. Just a little something you could do for me first.”

“What is it? Free them and I’ll do anything.”

“Helfer wants you to free them. You can do that for them, Ubergod. You
will do that for them. Helfer could release them, you know. The slightest touch of magic and they would be free. Helfer can do small magics. But oh, the things that can happen until then. Do you know what happens if you drop a frozen one from a height like this onto rocks below? Oh yes, it is not pretty. They shatter. A million little Kitties, twinkling like glass. Helfer knows. Helfer has seen. Helfer has done!”

Ubergard’s eyes grew wide in comprehension. “No! They’ve done nothing but help you Helfer! I hurt you. I’m the one you want. Why would you do this to them?”

image

Helfer’s face once again assumed it’s raging countenance. “To hurt you, Ubergod. As you have hurt Helfer. Your death means nothing to Helfer. Helfer liked you. But Helfer wants to see you cry. Do lizards cry, Ubergard? Helfer will know this.”

“We do. No tears, but we cry. And we remember. If you do this, I will remember.”

“Not long will you remember. Don’t worry, they feel nothing. They see nothing. They just will never know another moment. But no, Helfer will not have you shatter them. Last night was long. Helfer has a better idea for your Khajiit friend. She you care about most. You will drop her in the river. She may die instantly, but probably she will not. She will lie there, at the bottom of the river. For years. For decades. For centuries! Perhaps someday she will be rescued, but not by you. And if that day comes, you will be gone. Helfer will be gone. All will be gone. But no one will know she is there.”

image

Ubergard flexed her jaw. The keen eyes of Helfer noticed, but did not comprehend. Yet Ubergard was testing something. She had some free will. She may have to do as she was bidden, but beyond that she could do as she wished. She breathed without Helfer’s permission. Her heart beat. What did Helfer say? The slightest touch of magic? But she was no mage. She had no magic… or… did she? She needed more time to think…

“Why did your master exile you here, Helfer? What did you do?” Ubergard asked, not really caring but trying to stall the crazed Khajiit. Perhaps someone would come along soon.

image

“Bah! He is nothing. He cannot Shout. But… Helfer could only do small magic. She could please him in other ways, but she could not large magic. But Helfer is clever. Helfer is small, but she needed a sting. She found a book of Shouts. Master could not do the Shouts, but Helfer could. Helfer could do them well. Helfer practiced in secret, but still she could do only small magic and the Master grew bored of her. Even all her skill at pleasing him could not stop his disappointment. He took another. He left Helfer alone and loved another.”

“But Helfer shattered her. Shattered her to little tiny pieces. Oh yes, never to be put together again. Poor Master was heartbroken, but he knew who had done it. He knew how. He tried his magic on those shards. They instantly unfroze. That was a horrible thing he did. She oozed. She dripped away. She melted. And the smell was awful. Oh, Master, you should not have done that. He killed her, do you understand? She was, in a way, still alive until he did that. Still could be brought back. Maybe, somehow. But the goo that dripped away was not living. Helfer prays it was not living.“

image

Suddenly Helfer’s gaze focused back on Ubergard, "Enough. Ubergod, take your friend Kitty. Carry her up to the top of the bridge and drop her into the river below!”

“What’s the hurry?” Ubergard asked, though she turned and approached the frozen form of Kitty. “Do your Shouts not last forever?”

Helfer followed at a safe distance behind. “Oh, don’t worry Ubergod. Kitty will stay frozen forever. But you… Never mind. Helfer has a plan for you too.”

Ubergard lifted Kitty easily, totally unable to stop herself from carrying out the will of the mad Helfer.

image

CatDance #31

Kitty and Mikael returned to the Winking Skeever to find Ubergard talking with a male Khajiit in the tavern so they left her alone and took some food up to their room.

image

“Well, I’m glad she’s not just sitting down there drinking her problems away anyway,” Kitty said to Mikael as they were getting ready for bed later.

Mikael nodded in agreement. “Still, it’s a hard thing to do… breaking up I mean.”

“Promise me whatever happens between us, we’ll still be friends?” Kitty asked.

“Look, Kitty. I have to be honest with you. I would be fine with it until you fell in love with someone else. That would be tough. I don’t think I can make that promise. But I can at least promise I won’t hate you, because you’ve been honest with me. But it’s hard to think that someone I care about so deeply cares more for another.”

“Yeah, I suppose so. I guess we’ll just have to take it one day at a time.”

image

“That’s all anyone can do really. Predicting the future is a fool’s errand.”

Kitty came to him then and they embraced. “You are no fool, Mikael.”

“No nightie tonight?”

Kitty smiled her playful smile. “No need. I have you to keep me warm! You won’t be needing these underwear either.”

image

Mikael lay against Kitty, stroking her fur after they had made love again, not pausing at her erogenous zones as he might have done earlier, but not avoiding them either.

“That feels nice,” she said, beginning to drift off to sleep.

Nearby they heard Ubergard’s door close and the sound of voices from her room.

Kitty spoke softly to Mikael, “Doesn’t sound like Helfer.”

“No, it doesn’t. The Khajiit do you think?”

Kitty shrugged. “None of our business. If Ubergard wants to tell us, she will.”

The voices in the next room went quiet and Kitty pulled Mikael’s hand back onto her body. “Keep doing that. It’s awesome.”

Mikael did as he was told until both he and Kitty slept.

image

Mikael awoke first, noting the dim light of early morning in the window. He looked at the sleeping Kitty and woke her with a long kiss on her rump which strayed somewhat lower yet. She awoke with a smile and a moan, but he ceased his stimulation.

“Why stop?” she asked, mildly annoyed.

“Time to go, Kitty. We can have more of that when we get home. For now, we need to get packed and on the road.”

Kitty sighed, and then perked up. “We can have more of that in Morthal!” she pointed out.

Mikael smiled and kissed her before getting dressed. Kitty reluctantly did the same and in a few minutes they were out in the hall.

image

Kitty knocked on Ubergard’s door.

image

The giantess opened the door and promised to meet them downstairs in a few minutes, so Mikael and Kitty settled their account with the bartender downstairs and waited on Ubergard who didn’t take long to appear.

“Helfer didn’t come back last night I guess?”

Ubergard shook her head, “she was pretty pissed off. I didn’t really expect her back honestly. When I told her we were leaving this morning, she stormed out in a rage. The last straw I guess after I’d told her we were done earlier yesterday.”

“Oh well, maybe it’s good to break it off cleanly like that,” Mikael offered.

“Maybe. Doesn’t feel good though,” Ubergard said.

image

A few hours later found them walking back down the road to Dragon Bridge. The conversation had been nothing serious, though Ubergard was back to her old silent self. Then suddenly, without turning back to face Kitty and Mikael, she said, “I’m not used to this you know. I’ve never had anything even close to a romantic relationship before. It… hurts. More than I expected.”

Mikael replied first, “It does. There wouldn’t be so many songs and stories about it were it not so powerful.”

Kitty joined in then, “Do you think maybe you might have loved her after all?”

Ubergard, still walking ahead of them without turning around, answered her. “No. She just wasn’t right for me. But damned if the sex wasn’t good. I hope I gave her as much… pleasure as she gave me. I think I was addicted to it. I knew it would just hurt her more to stay with me, but I couldn’t help myself. I hurt her for my own pleasure, and I never thought I’d be that kind of person.”

image

Kitty and Mikael looked at each other, knowing there was no good answer for this. All three continued on in silence for a while before Ubergard spoke up again, this time her voice hoarse with emotion. “I won’t do that again. It’s too powerful.”

Kitty replied quietly, “It’s in your nature, Uber. You were just denying it all your life. If you continue denying it, you’ll be fighting yourself. Better if you learn to control it than deny it.”

Ubergard continued walking but Kitty noticed her posture straighten. “You’re right Kitty. It’s discipline I need, not denial. I will be more careful about who I share it with. So I won’t hurt them.”

“You could get hurt yourself you know. What if you fall in love with someone who doesn’t love you back? It’s hard to be sure.”

“But that’s life,” Mikael interjected. “You have to take a risk of getting hurt, or you’ll never know. Otherwise the result is just denial again.”

They continued in silence again, each thinking their own thoughts till the town of Dragon Bridge came into view.

image

“We’re making good time. Do you feel like stopping?” Mikael asked.

“No,” Kitty answered. “No need to stop. I want to get home. Ok with you Uber?”

“Of course,” the Argonian replied and they continued onto the bridge.

When they reached the apex, Ubergard stopped dead in her tracks.

“What is it Uber?” Kitty asked.

But she needed no answer when they all saw the familiar figure waiting at the end of the bridge.

image

She was standing naked, but the look on her face was undisguised fury.

“Helfer?” Ubergard called to her. “Are you alright?”

“Come closer and find out, Ubergod!” the Khajiit hissed.

Ubergard approached slowly with her hands up. “Helfer, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I’m really sorry!”

“Sorry? You are sorry? You should not be sorry, Ubergod. You are large. Helfer is only a small thing compared to you. You must hurt small things. All large things hurt small things.”

image

Mikael and Kitty followed Ubergard’s example, approaching slowly. This Khajiit was obviously disturbed, maybe even deranged.

Meanwhile, Helfer was continuing her speech. It seemed to be a prepared thing, thought Kitty. Maybe all night she had been working on it. That didn’t bode well.

“…but Helfer is perhaps not so small as you think, Ubergod. Perhaps she is like those little ants that you step on, but perhaps this one has a bite. A sting. Don’t you know that little things have a sting? Little things must carry a sting, if they are to survive.”

“Helfer, I did NOT intend to hurt you! If I intended to hurt you, I would have continued to stay with you, don’t you see? If I don’t love you, then if I stayed with you I’d only be using you. I care about you too much to…”

“STOP!” Helfer suddenly said, and all three instinctively did so.

“Please, Helfer…” Ubergard began, but an insidious smile crept over Helfer’s face. Then she shouted three odd words at Ubergard that no one else recognized, but whose results were unmistakable.

image

“Fus! Ro! Dah!”

image

CatDance #30

“Where’s Helfer?” Mikael asked when he came down to the tavern after getting dressed.

Kitty looked to Ubergard.

“She left,” was Ubergard’s brief response.

Mikael turned back to Kitty

“I’ll tell you later,” she said.

image

Mikael may have been male, but he was also perceptive enough to see that this, whatever “this” was, was none of his business. Instead, he caught the eye of the bartender and ordered a drink.

“So, do we start heading back home tomorrow?” Kitty asked Mikael.

Mikael nodded. “No reason why not. Unless you want to stay longer. The college will send us details later, but there’s no need to stick around as far as that’s concerned.”

image

Kitty thought about that for a minute. “Solitude is nice, and certainly more cultured than Whiterun. But, I do miss Red and the girls. And the castle for that matter. I wonder how they’ve been getting along?”

Mikael shrugged. “Knowing Udaran, she’s probably taken over the place by now.”

“Oh, you don’t think Red would take the leadership role while I’m away?”

“You’re assuming she’s even staying there, with her hot romance with the Jarl still burning. But even so, no. She’s a strong personality for sure, but she’s not a leader. She hasn’t got the desire to be. But Udaran’s a born leader. You may have a little trouble living under the same roof with that one.”

image

“Udaran? Surely not. She’s one of my closest friends!”

“I know. But it’s been my experience that there can only be one Queen under the same roof. You’re the Queen of your castle. But she’s not used to living under another Queen. It’s not a matter of friendship, Kitty. It’s a matter of who rules the roost. And it sure as hell ain’t the rooster!”

Kitty thought about that. “Let’s go back,” she stated. “Though I think you may be surprised at how well we can get along. We spent days together on the trail of Shabhira without conflict after all.”

“Yes… and she was the undisputed leader too, wasn’t she?”

image

“Well, Ubergard actually lead…” she began before Mikael cut her off.

“You know what I mean. Not who was on leading in formation. Who made the decisions?”

“Udaran,” Kitty admitted.

“My point. Don’t get me wrong, you may get along fine for a long time. But you own the castle and eventually she’s not going to like that. Inevitable. But it needn’t get nasty. Just… be aware of it, that’s all I’m saying.”

Kitty nodded. “Thanks. I will. So… tomorrow then?”

image

Mikael turned to Ubergard who was barely paying attention. “Uber? You in there?” Mikael said.

“I’m sorry Mikael. It’s just… I have a lot to think about lately. Things I’ve not had to think of before. What were you asking?”

“Tomorrow. Are you ok with heading back tomorrow?”

“Oh! That soon?”

“Kitty want’s to head back, and there’s no reason to stay here any longer. Of course, you’re not exactly a neophyte when it comes to travelling. You could just stay here until you’re ready. I’m sure Kitty and I will do fine.”

image

That seemed to bring Ubergard around out of her haze. “Oh, no. I will certainly come with you. What time do you have in mind?”

They both looked to Kitty, who answered “Early. I’d really like to get back as soon as we can.”

“With a full day’s traveling tomorrow, we should get there no later than afternoon the day after. We can stay at the Inn in Morthal this time rather than try and camp out.”

“We’d best not stay up too late then. Let’s try and get to bed early, Mikael,” she said. At his grin, she revised, “Let’s try a get to
sleep early, Mikael! Jeeze, how can you even have anything left in those little balls!?”

“Tsk tsk tsk,” Mikael mock-scolded her. “Such language! And I’ll have you know they’re not little either. They’re just right. But lust isn’t below the belt, it’s above the neck! And my lust springs eternal!”

image

“So it seems! How about you and I take a walk loverboy? It’s a wonderful night out.”

“Sure! See you later Uber!”

“Goodnight Kitty, goodnight Mikael,” the Argonian said, turning back to her ale as they stepped towards the door.

image

“What’s up with her?” Mikael asked Kitty as soon as they’d stepped outside of the Winking Skeever.

“Helfer of course. They had a sort of fight. Ubergard made it clear she didn’t want Helfer to follow us back to Whiterun. That their fling was over when we leave here.”

“And she took it badly I assume.”

Kitty nodded. “Sounds like it. Ubergard thought she was handling it properly, being firm and all. But Helfer took it hard. To be honest, I’m not sure she’s even coming back tonight, though Ubergard asked her to. She may be gone for good.”

image

Mikael thought about that. “Not likely. If she’s really in love with Ubergard she’s not going to be able to resist staying another night with her. Probably their last night together. If she get’s over the hurt of being rejected anyway.”

“And if not?” Kitty asked, knowing that Mikael had a lot more life experience that she did.

Mikael mused over that for a minute as they strolled the streets of Solitude. “If not, like you said, we may never see her again.”

image

Overhead, a pair of eyes and twin feline ears turned to track the two lovers.

image

“Oh, you’ll see this one again,” thought the naked Khajiit, invisibly perched on a nearby rooftop. “Soon in person, perhaps later in your night dreams.”

Then the eyes turned back to stare intently at the door of the Winking Skeever, and the cold anger in them turned hot. “Sleep well, UBERGOD!” she spat.

image

CatDance #29

Kitty and Mikael returned to their room at the Winking Skeever where Kitty wasted no time in getting out of her bodysuit. She also wasted no time in getting Mikael on his back.

“It is time to celebrate Mikael. And that’s, like, the opposite of celibate!” Kitty laughed as she stripped Mikael of his clothes and knocked him back onto the bed.

image

“Whoa! Horny much?” Mikael laughed as the Khajiit ferociously lapped at his genitals.

Looking up, Kitty smiled her evil smile. She was feeling particularly frisky after the successful meeting the College and she intended to reward herself in the best way she knew.

image

“Yes, as a matter of fact. I am,” Kitty stated. “Now do your duty and return the favor!”

“With pleasure!” he laughed and sat her on top of him.

image

Some hours later, after they had both been sated and were resting, she turned to him. “Good for you?”

“I think you have plenty of evidence of that – in multiple places!”

She closed her eyes. “Oh yes… plenty of evidence.”

image

“Kitty, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking this needs to end. You’re thinking that you’re wasting my time and love with this affair, when I’m not the mate for you.”

She opened her eyes again to look at him, without speaking. A bit of a sad and wistful look on her face.

“I know you are, Kitty. But perhaps it needn’t end so soon. When we get back, we’ll both have a lot to do. But let’s not make any plans beyond that for a while, ok? I do regret having asked you to marry me, but only because you think you have to leave me now.”

“I do, you know. And I don’t want to.” she admitted, sighing.

image

“Well then don’t. Give me some time. Now that I know… how you feel, let me adjust to it. I’ve been monogamous for these last few months you know.”

“Because of me?” Kitty asked.

“Of course because of you, silly Khajiit! Why else? I’ve fallen in love with you. But maybe if you give me some time, I can fall out of love.”

Kitty looked truly happy again. “That would be wonderful!”

image

Mikael looked disgusted. “Only you would be happy to have someone fall
out of love with you!”

Kitty got up and lowered her boobs over his face. “Maybe this will help! Clean up your evidence you nasty male!”

image

Below her, Mikael’s face was horrified but he soon accepted his punishment as inevitable.

“Go on,” Kitty said huskily. “It turns me on. And besides, you’re in love with me, so entertain me! Yeah, that’s it. Now, here’s another place you’ve left a mess. You put it in there, you clean it up. I’ll just sit on you and enjoy it.”

A muffled voice from between her legs managed, “Yes Dr. Kitty. Doctor knows best.”

She let more of her weight down and in her best dominatrix voice she replied, “That’s right. Now less talking, more licking!”

image

A few minutes later, she was really getting into it and was just reaching an orgasm when the door opened and Ubergard stepped inside, closing the door behind her before she realized what was going on in the bed in front of her.

The sound that came from Kitty’s throat could best be called a yowl. It combined both the ecstasy of her climax and her startled embarrassment as she literally could not stop her hips from stroking Mikael’s face until her orgasm had run it’s course.

Then she collapsed upon her lover as she panted, “Yes Ubergard? (huff, huff) You (huff) wanted something?”

“Oh!” Ubergard shook her head, realizing she had been staring. “Sorry Kitty! I’ll come back later!”

image

“Don’t be silly. (huff) You’ve seen everything (huff) there is to see by now. What did you want to tell us?”

“Well… er… I came because… I came…”

Kitty followed the Argonian’s eyes down to her lover’s engorgement. “Oh, sorry,” she said as she covered it up with her boobs.

As if relieved from a distraction, Ubergard pulled herself together. “That is to say, we just got back. Helfer’s down eating dinner. I just wanted to see if you were back and how things went at the college.”

image

“Oh, they went great!” Kitty said, sitting up on Mikael’s chest before climbing off the bed. “I’m now an Honorary Master of Dance from the Bard’s College!”

Ubergard’s eyes flicked to Mikael’s exposed body again as he got up on the other side of the bed began to gather his clothes. Kitty grabbed her standard black outfit and, as usual, was in it before Ubergard could see how it was done.

“Come down and join us when you’re dressed, Mikael!” Kitty said as she walked out in front of Ubergard.

“I will. Good to see you Ubergard.” Mikael said a bit red faced.

“You too Michael. Your penis is lovely, by the way.” Ubergard smiled as she closed the door.

“Thanks,“ he replied to the door.

image

"Sorry for all that, Ubergard. I should have locked the door.”

“And I should have knocked first. But damn, I gotta get me one of those!” Ubergard said, not altogether joking.

Kitty stopped, puzzled, “One of what?”

Ubergard held her hands about 7 inches apart.

“Oh!” Kitty said. “Yeah… they’re nice, I have to admit. Kinda nasty, but they sure feel good inside! Well, for some of us anyway.”

“After seeing that, I’m more convinced than ever that I’m with you. But don’t you need to clean up first? He didn’t…”

Kitty waved a hand and interrupted her. “Oh, sure he did! Quite a bit. But no, that’s what you walked in on. I made Mikael clean me up!”

Ubergard smiled. “Now
that’s a great relationship!”

Kitty sighed. “No, that’s Love. Damn it.”

CatDance #28

She began with a dance that was less athletic than most of those from the previous night, but one that highlighted her balance and grace – full of long leaps and pirouettes. At the end of her first dance, the Masters did not applaud, but Viarmo gave her a smile and a nod. This, she decided, was probably the best response she was likely to get from them.

image

Her last dance was the story of the Hunter and the Doe, though this time without Helfer’s role. Afterwards the audience rose and all left silently but contemplatively while Viarmo came over to talk with her and Mikael.

image

“Kitty, that was quite a performance, and one that will not be forgotten. We of the College are trained to judge, to look for where improvement can be made. You must not be offended by our lack of external appreciation. But you have done very well for your cause.”

Kitty nodded humbly before Viarmo turned to Mikael. “You, of all people Mikael, know the conservatism of us at the College. To add a fourth mode of expression as you ask is not a decision we take lightly.”

image

Mikael nodded, “No, I didn’t expect you to. Just to consider it.”

“Of course,” Viarmo assured him. “You can be sure of that. Should we decide in favor, what would you have us do?”

Mikael turned to Kitty. “Well, we were thinking that perhaps Kitty can receive some sort of accreditation from the College and open a sort of extension campus in Whiterun.”

Viarmo looked to Kitty. “You wouldn’t want to teach here?”

Kitty shook her head. “I’m sorry, no. I have too much depending on me back in Whiterun. I can’t move to Solitude. But I am interested in teaching Dance.”

image

“No. That we cannot do,” Viarmo stated flatly after a pause. “We cannot grant you the ability to name a student as having completed a study of Dance when we cannot be there to judge the merits of the student, so you cannot not be given the title of Dean. However, I would like to propose an alternative. Instead, I would suggest you be given the title "Honorary Master of Dance” with a certification to teach students in your field. When you feel a student has reached a proficiency worthy of your area, you will bring that student to us here as final arbiter. If we feel they are worthy, they will then receive a diploma in the art of Dance. This will count as one of a triune of degrees minimally necessary to achieve the title of acknowledged Bard. Mastery of any three of the four disciplines would qualify a student for that honor.“

image

Mikael looked shocked, though Kitty was confused. "Is… that not good?” she asked him.

“Good? It’s perfect! It raises Dance to the full equal of Prose, Lyric and Music!” he answered, then turned to Viarmo, “But do you really think you can convince the others of the idea?”

The headmaster smiled. “Oh, I think so. And as headmaster, I have 2 votes to their 1 each. I already know you have won over Giraud with that little hunter dance. A masterful stroke if I may say so. The other dances had their effect, but that clinched his vote. Even if the other two vote against me… us, we still have the majority.”

Mikael turned and gave Kitty an excited hug, to which she laughed when he began to spin her around.

image

“Thank you Headmaster. You won’t regret it!” Mikael assured him after he set Kitty back down.

“See that I don’t!”

“May I ask one question, Headmaster Viarmo?” Kitty asked him as he turned to go.

“Certainly Kitty. Or perhaps I should address you as Dr. Kitty?”

“No, no. Just Kitty will do fine. My question is just this… I understand why Giraud would approve, but… why did you?”

image

“Do you want the official reason, or the real reason?”

Kitty looked perplexed.

“I see. Then I shall give you both. Officially, and intellectually for that matter, I see the truth in both what Mikael said and in what you showed. Dance, when properly done by those skilled such as you, is undoubtedly an art form and well worth supporting. To deny that is to deny reality. Mikael made his case well, and your skill shows what can be accomplished by a true master of the art.”

image

“And the real reason?”

Viarmo smiled. “I haven’t had such a raging erection since I turned 200 years old, and that was quite some time ago!”

image

Kitty began to feel the hair on her tail rising, but Viarmo shook his head. “No, no good Khajiit. Do not feel shame. You should be proud! Proud that your body, it’s gracefulness and your skill in controlling it can raise such feelings in even such as I. Who knows? Maybe I’ll take Inge out for a date!”

Mikael snorted loudly and doubled over trying to suppress laughter. Viarmo just scowled at him in mock anger but ending with a sincere smile. “Youth is squandered on the young. She was quite the vixen in her day, young man. Memories can overcome outward appearances. Someday you will understand this too, should you live so long. But now, I must return to my College. I will send an emissary to Whiterun once we have worked out the details. Congratulations to you both!”

With that, the Headmaster of the Bard’s College turned and walked back inside.

image

CatDance #27

Inside they were met by a young man who introduced himself as Ataf whom Mikael was apparently familiar with. Mikael suggested Kitty wait in a large room full of books just to the right of the entrance while he went off with Ataf to consult with Viarmo upstairs.

image

She looked around for something interesting, but the only book to catch her eye was one called A Dance in Fire V4. But as far as she could tell, it didn’t seem to be about dancing at all. It did mention Khajiits, but as she scanned it, it soon became obvious that the Khajiit were once again portrayed negatively. She sighed as she closed the book and then noticed a stunning Nord woman approaching her.

image

“Hello, friend Khajiit. I am Illdi. And you must be the dancer with Mikael?”

Kitty rose and shook the hand that the beautiful girl offered, taking care to keep her claws retracted.

“Yes, my name is Kitty. You’ve heard about me already?”

“Oh, you’re the talk of Solitude, Kitty! But that’s a good thing. What brings you to the College?”

“We’re here to see the head master. Are you a student here?”

Illdi sighed, “Yes. Though sometimes I think I’ll always just be a student. Are you applying? We don’t get many Khajiit here.”

Kitty considered that. “I suppose, in a way I am. But… well, it’s complicated. Maybe not. I… don’t sing or tell stories. I just dance.”

image

“And very well, so I hear. And of course that explains the outfit! You’ve quite the body, for a Khajiit.”

Kitty decided to ignore the qualifier. She was sure this gorgeous girl meant no offense, and to be perfectly honest, she was pretty well-endowed. “Well, thank you Illdi.”

Illdi glanced at the book Kitty had just been looking through. “Oh, that. No, not exactly about dancing is it? Here… Here’s one that’s much more interesting!”

Kitty accepted the small book Illdi had pulled from her bag and scanned the title. Lorna the Bard – Book 1. “Well thank you Illdi! I’ll read it as soon as I get a chance.”

image

Illdi put her head down conspiratorially. “You might want to read it in private. I put a little star in the margins at the best parts. If you like it, I’ve got the other three volumes too. It gets pretty lonely at the college, but I’ve read them all hundreds of times over by now.”

“Oh! It’s
that kind of book! Well then, I really thank you!” Kitty smiled conspiratorially as she put the little book away.

The two started laughing when Mikael came in. “I see you’ve met Illdi. Sorry to interrupt, but we’re needed outside Kitty. Viarmo is gathering Giraud, Inge and Pantea Ateia in the theater for our demonstration.”

image

“Oh, can I come too Mikael?” Illdi asked.

“I’m sorry, Illdi. This is a private demonstration for the masters only. Perhaps another time.”

“Well, thanks again Illdi!” Kitty said as she followed Mikael. “I hope to see you again soon. We’re staying at the Winking Skeever if I don’t see you again today.“

"Thanks Kitty, I’ll do that! Things get awfully dull around here. See you tonight!”

image

Kitty followed Mikael back outside a little area surrounded by steps where obviously various performances were held by the Bards College – to potentially sizable crowds based on the seating area around it. Kitty was immediately drawn to the open portals that looked out on a magnificent view far below.

“Oh, Mikael, the view is beautiful!”

“And so it is from here as well! But we have no time for that now, Viarmo has arrived with the three Masters.”

Kitty turned back to where Viarmo and three other masters of the College were entering the theater. Viarmo came on and shook hands with Kitty. “And this, I presume, is the Khajiit you’ve told me about Mikael?”

“Yes indeed! Viarmo, this is Kitty. She dances for me at the Bannered Mare in Whiterun and is the reason we’re here today.”

image

“Kitty, you should be proud. Mikael holds you in extremely high regard for your skill at dancing. Please understand that no matter what comes of today’s interview, you already have my most sincere admiration. But now, let me introduce you to the others and we shall see what we shall see.”

“Thank you, sir!” Kitty responded gracefully.

image

“And now,” Viarmo said raising his voice for the other seated Masters, “you all know Mikael. One of our most celebrated graduates and envoy of the Bards College to Whiterun. Today he brings with him Kitty, a Khajiit he has been working with for some time in that legendary town. He has a proposal which he would like us to consider.

Kitty, before you is Dean of History, Giraud Gemane. Next to him is Dean of Lutes, Inge Six Fingers. And finally, Pantea Ateia, our Master Vocalist.”

Kitty bowed respectfully to each in turn as she was introduced.

image

The three nodded politely to Kitty before Viarmo joined them to hear what Mikael had to say. While their ears were listening to Mikael, it was obvious their attention was really on her. Others might feel uncomfortable with that scrutiny, but Kitty was not one to be ashamed of her body. It dawned on her then that perhaps that might be one aspect of becoming a dancer that was paramount. The whole point of a dance, besides the thrill of the movements themselves, was to become the focus of attention, and anyone ashamed of showing their body was certainly not going to ever be a successful dancer! That would be something to consider if she was ever going to teach dance professionally. But now she turned to Mikael to listen to what he was saying.

image

“…in fact, the whole purpose of the Bard’s College is to educate and entertain the masses is it not? For generations we have striven to do that using Music, Stories and Song. You three represent the masters of those three genres. And in that goal we have been at least moderately successful.”

“…given the talent we have to work with,” muttered Pantea under her breath.

Mikael continued, ignoring the interruption. “We have kept the memory of the past alive with songs of the heroes of past ages, of battles and romances. The tales we weave are both memorable and entertaining. Yet I submit to you today that we have been ignoring another genre that may be even older and more memorable than the catchiest songs or the most evocative of stories. For those require the audience to understand the language of the lyrics and the nuances of the words. But Dance does not hold this requirement. It is a universal language to all sentient races in Tamriel. Today I would like to demonstrate that for you… to demonstrate what Dance can be.”

image

“What you say is undoubtedly true, Mikael, but what do you aim to prove here?” asked Giraud.

“Nothing less than the admittance of a fourth genre to the Bard’s College. I propose to introduce Dance as a teachable medium for communication and the conveying of history, ideas and stories. I believe it to be an art form every bit as nuanced and precise as music or singing. Kitty here and her talent has made that abundantly clear to me!”

“But Mikael… begging your pardon Miss Kitty, I don’t mean to disparage you – I’m sure your skill at Dance is extremely masterful… but how can you compare the lumbering gyrations of some backwater cretin to the lofty works we at the College train in? Why, there’s not even any
WORDS!” protested the Master Vocalist.

image

“Indeed. But I don’t really compare the skill of Miss Kitty to any lyrical or prose form, but I
do compare it to the universality of music itself. Master Inge, your skill with the lute certainly a worthy pursuit of any Bard worth his salt. Music alone has no defined words without lyric, yet it still is a medium evocative and meaningful even without a vocalist would you not agree?”

The Dean of Lutes smiled and nodded, accepting the point.

“Then, in the same way that music combines with lyrics to make song, I submit that music and lyric may also combine with dance to raise the experience to yet a higher level. Let us demonstrate…”

And with that, Kitty began to dance…

CatDance #26

Kitty was wide awake in bed while Mikael was breathing heavily next to her, obviously deep in sleep. But Kitty couldn’t sleep. Not only was the anticipation of tomorrow’s meeting with the College worrying her, now she had to deal with this too!

She hoped that her rejection of Mikael’s proposal had been gentle enough. He had taken it with enough grace, but she found it hard to believe that Mikael with his free spirit ways and wandering eye could possibly be serious.

And was it possible that she didn’t really want to be married yet either? Hell, did she even love him?

image

She turned over to look at him. With a sigh, she realized that she didn’t. He was a great companion. A hell of a bed-mate too. It wasn’t even that he was human. He had taught her that it really was the person behind the body that mattered. And she liked him. She liked him a lot! But it just didn’t cross the line into love. Not like what he meant, what he needed. She’d felt that once before, with FarSeer. She just didn’t feel it with Mikael.

After this trip she would have to break up with him. It was unfair for her to do anything else just to get his attentions, especially now that he’d done this. She would miss him. But to do anything else would just be stringing him along instead of freeing him up to find another. Damn.

image

To top it off, she really needed some sleep tonight.

“Well fuck it,” she finally thought to herself. “There’s one way I know I can get to sleep. Rise and shine big boy. It’s time to go to work!”

With that she quietly removed her nightgown, turned head-to-toe and gently pulled him out of his underwear and into her mouth. He woke to a warm, wet stroking between his legs that he reflected was the best interruption of sleep he’d ever experienced. The rest followed nature’s course and, after a quick but satisfying interlude of sleepy-sex, they both drifted off.

image

When she awoke the next morning, Mikael was gone. She found him downstairs with Ubergard.

“There you are Kitty!” Mikael said with his usual and annoying morning cheerfulness.

“Good morning Mikael, Uber. Where’s Helfer?”

Ubergard replied apologetically, “Still sleeping. Mikael says you won’t need me or her today?”

“Not bringing Helfer?” Kitty asked Mikael. “I thought she might work as an example of how I can teach others to dance, or something like that.”

image

“Last night was a show, but today should be more of just a demonstration. I’d like to keep them focused on you during that part, and Helfer would just be a distraction. Besides, I’m sure Uber and Helfer would appreciate some time to explore Solitude on their own anyway.”

Kitty turned to Ubergard while reaching for some breakfast treats on the table.

“Yes, I think we need to talk. I’m afraid she’s getting too serious and I need to explain some things to her. So I would appreciate the time.”

Turning back to Mikael, Kitty asked between bites, “Fair enough. So when do we go?”

“As soon as you’re ready. What are you going to wear?”

image

Kitty shrugged. “Any suggestions? I brought quite a few choices.”

“I was thinking the white body suit. Sexy as all your stuff is, the black you normally wear is too dark. We want them to see you. But the dancing outfits you wear also are distracting. Frankly nude would be best in some ways, but we don’t want the sexuality to be the focus – just the movements. The white one seems the best alternative to me.”

“Sounds reasonable. I’ll be back in a minute and we can go.”

image

As Kitty turned back to change, Mikael watched her go with no outward sign of sadness,, but he knew he had lost her last night. Their relationship had changed, despite her assurance and actions to the contrary. Inwardly he sighed, regretting his proposal. At least she seemed to have forgotten her confidence problem. She must’ve to wear that barely-there nightgown down here!

image

She returned in a startlingly white bodysuit, very similar to her black one but without the boots. It hugged her body like a glove… a very form-fitting glove.

“Alright! I’m ready if you are! What do you think?” she said, displaying her outfit to him.

Mikael looked at the Khajiit. “Excellent. Form-fitting but without adornment. A real dancer’s outfit. No shoes?”

Kitty looked somewhat ashamed, as if embarrassed to admit her physiological differences from humans. “I have… claws on my feet that might be helpful. I thought it best to keep all my advantages today.”

“Good thinking Kitty. Well, let’s go. Ubergard, we’ll probably be back around lunch time. Wish us luck!”

“Good luck then. I’m not sure if we’ll be here when you get back, but we’ll see you tonight anyway,” said Ubergard as they left the Winking Skeever.

image

As they approached the large three-story edifice, Kitty couldn’t help but be impressed.

“Let me do the talking,” Mikael began. “I spoke with Viarmo, the headmaster of the college yesterday and they’ll be expecting us. While he’s an Altmer and rather stern, he’s a fair man and will listen to our request. But he’s also conservative and will take some convincing. But they are a truly democratic group and the others that will be sitting in on our demonstration will be just as important.“

"An Altmer?” Kitty asked. “They’re not very friendly to Khajiit usually…”

“They’re not friendly to anyone usually. But as I said, he’s a good man and not likely to be prejudiced by a tail or snout. There will also be the three Deans. Giraud Gemane is the dean of History, so I’ll highlight the dance as a way of visually telling stories. Inge Six Fingers is the dean of Lutes. He’ll be with us right from the start since dance is a natural response to music and therefore closely related. Then there’s Pantea Ateia, dean of vocalists. She’ll be a tough nut to crack since dance doesn’t directly relate to vocals. So we’ve got one for us, one likely against, and the other two will be the deciding factor.”

image

“Mikael… I don’t mean to sound slutty but, should I try to come on to them or appeal to them physically? I know it’s kind of cheating, but if it would help…”

“No need for that Kitty. They’re all professionals. Just dance your heart out, as you always do. I don’t think any of them would be swayed by any overt interest, and some might be offended. Erotica is part of the bard’s trade too, and every one of them is an expert bard of their own domain. They would see through any feigned interest instantly. No, just do your best. And remember, if we fail, it’s not the end of the world. As long as we give it our best shot, we can leave happy no matter which way the decision falls.”

image

Kitty nodded, feeling suprisingly better as they walked up the steps to the looming building that was the Bard’s College.

Before opening the door, Mikael turned to her. “I’m sorry, Kitty… for last night,” he said sincerely.

Kitty understood exactly what he meant and didn’t try to deny what they both knew. “I know Mikael. I’m sorry too.” And with that she stretched up to him and gave him a strong and passionate kiss. “But I still like you a lot!”

Mikael smiled somewhat and opened the door.
