Sabhira’s Daughter #14

Muz-Ra continued her story as the four walked into Riverwood and night fell.

“Sorry to interrupt your completely believable and engrossing narrative Red, but I do need to stop by the Sleeping Giant Inn for a minute,” Udaran interjected.

“Oh, I’ll get something to drink too.  Non-alcoholic of course,” Kitty piped up.

“And a snack for me,” agreed Muz-Ra, “I love to sample the local fare when I’m travelling.”

“Ok, but please be quick about it.  The sooner we get to the Guardian Stones, the sooner we can rest,” Udaran added.

image
“Damn.  I hate having to wait in line for the toilet,” said Kitty impatiently waiting in the line.

“Screw this, I’m going to use the Male’s room,” Muz-Ra said, stepping out of the queue.

Udaran warned, “Those places are always pretty nasty Red.”

“Hey, I can pee standing up,” Muz-Ra pointed out, “It just takes a bit of practice and good digital dexterity!”

image
Before too long, the group was again back on the road to Helgen.

“Ok, let’s get going,” said Udaran, “What took you so long Red?”

“Oh, some of the locals wanted to have a pissing contest.  I out-distanced most of them,” Muz-Ra replied with a proud smile.

“EWWWW! RED!” squealed both Udaran and Kitty.

“Hey! Considering they’d been drinking all night AND had a few inches head-start on me, I think I represented the female gender rather well!” replied Muz-Ra with a hurt expression.

image
“So what did you get Red?” asked Kitty.

“Oh, some sort of triangle shaped corn crisps with cheese powder.  They call them Dory toes, though they look nothing like toes to me. Here, try one,” offered Muz-Ra.

“Maybe it’s some type of fish.  Fins you know…” Kitty conjectured, looking at the triangle dubiously. “Ooo!  They’re good!” she concluded after trying one.

“What did you get?” returned Muz-Ra.

“Just a drink.  Something they called Cloaca-Koala.  But it’s pretty good.  Wanna sip?” Kitty offered a cup to the Argonian.

“Yuck!  Sounds like processed marsupial urine to me,” Udaran interjected, overhearing them.

“Mmm!  No idea what’s in it, but it IS good. Kinda tickles the nose,” said Kitty.

I wonder what they feed those Koalas?” Muz-Ra pondered.

image
“So, shall I carry on with my story Udaran?” asked Muz-Ra after a while.

“Oh, go on.  After your performance at the Inn, it can’t be THAT bad,” Udaran decided.

“Yes, please do!  Last I remember you had been knocked unconscious or something!” Kitty reminded everyone.

image
“I think it was some sort of ward that I’d set off.  Regardless, I was knocked out.  But somehow I felt myself being lifted and carried from the tower by strong, powerful arms.  I was carried to the main keep and laid in a bed of furs.  I felt hands pulling and prodding my body but could not quite regain consciousness.  Finally I dozed into a fitful sleep.  I must have been quite tired because I awoke with a start sometime the next day – knowing I was in a strange room.” image
“Realizing I was no longer naked, I looked down upon my newly acquired clothing.  It appeared to be an outfit designed for human domestic servitude, yet sorely lacking in the posterior as a slight breeze made crystal clear!  This could have been due to the uniform not accommodating a tailed-body like mine.  However, I later came to believe it was due to the peculiar predilection of the Man or Mer I’d soon come to call Master…” image
“That was when I heard a voice behind me…” image

Ubergard raised her eyes skyward and exclaimed, “Save me from wannabe adventurers!  Follow me, I know the way.”

“How far is it?” asked Udaran.

“We could reach it by midnight, but that would be foolish.  A bandit encampment will have sentries, and we will not see them at night.” offered the giantess.

image
Udaran nodded, “Then we must make camp tonight, not too far but not too near,” decided Udaran

“The Guardian Stones.  We will camp there,” Ubergard suggested.

The band continued resolutely down the road when Ubergard pointed out, “We first pass through Riverwood if you’d like to stop.”

“NO!  We must continue on.  We’ve all got food stored.  We’ve got to go as far as we can before nightfall,” Udaran protested.

image
“Would you like to hear a story while we travel?” Muz-Ra suggested.

“Sure Red!” answered Kitty enthusiastically.

“Oh my god,” muttered Udaran almost reflexively now.

Muz-Ra glared at the Khajiit and she relented, nodding.

image
“Well, it may surprise you to know,” started Muz-Ra, “that once upon a time I was young and adventurous myself.”

“This must have been before the mountains were born,” quipped Udaran

“Shut up.” said the Argonian, then continued, “In those days I lived far away and took it upon myself to venture far from the Marshes into the great white North.”

“Are you making this up?” asked Kitty.

“Shut up.” said the Argonian.

image
“One day, I was deep in an unknown northern forest, when I came upon an island out in a great bay.  Being Argonian and able to breathe underwater, I decided to investigate.  In the middle of the island was a castle, the waters surrounding it like a moat and cut off from the land.  In those waters were many large, meat-eating reptiles.  But I wasn’t concerned.  At the sight of me they leapt over one another to get away.  Yet, unknown to me, a huge beast – the king of the reptiles – was laying in wait at the bottom.” image
“Suddenly as I was approaching the far bank, it attacked!  We struggled as the beast slashed and tore at me, trying to grasp me in it’s gaping maw.  Only with the most powerful thrust of my own tail was I able to leap from the moat on the far side and escape with my scales intact.  Heaving with fear and exertion, I found the monster had ripped my clothes clean from my body yet my scales were unbroken.  So I stood, not even in tatters and rags, but in front of the fortress, naked as the day I was hatched.  But still determined to see what lay within.”

“Yup, you’re making this up,” Kitty concluded.

“Shut up.” said the Argonian.

image
“I searched for a door or opening that would allow me access, but all were barred to me and the castle was dark and silent.  It was getting dark and I had nearly given up when a voice called to me, ‘Scaled beauty with muzzle of crimson, stand before the gate and you may pass within if you dare!’  I didn’t much like the thought of swimming through those waters again, the monster had sunk to the bottom and could be anywhere, so I went back to the main gate and, without warning, the portcullis began to rise.” image
image
“Behind me I heard the heavy portcullis lower again as I walked to the main door of the tower.  I walked towards this door in a trance, somehow not quite myself.  In those days I would have been ashamed to be walking so brazenly naked, watched by unknown eyes from above.  Yet somehow, I did not.  All I felt was a powerful urge to enter and explore what lay beyond those doors.” image
“When my eyes adjusted to the darkness within, I had a brief glimpse of a staircase climbing high into the tower, and arcane runes glowing on the walls and floor.  Yet just as my eyes registered this, there was an bright electrical flash and I was knocked unconcious to the floor.”

“Oh, it’s one of THOSE stories,” Kitty said knowingly.

“What did you expect?” smiled Udaran.

Sabhira’s Daughter #12

image
A while later, after having been re-united with her friends and suffering the karmic, blinding effect of the invisibility cloak…

“Helgen – he’s in Helgen,” said Kitty to the group, “But, he’s part of a bandit group.  Ri’saad’s sent a Khajiit named Atahbah there.”

“A bandit?  Surely he hasn’t brought his daughter into a group of bandits?” asked Udaran.

image
Udaran reminded Muz-Ra, “He is an evil Khajiit Red.  He might have.”

“Why on earth did Sabhira leave her with him then?” Muz-Ra responded, shocked.

“She had no choice Red,” Udaran stated flatly.

“Poor girl.  She would… have a hard life,” pondered Muz-Ra.

image
Kitty then realized, “For all we know, she may be a bandit too.  No reason to think otherwise really.  We know nothing about her.”

“That’s true. If so, do you give all your gold to a criminal Udie?” Muz-Ra asked.

“I will give all of it to Sabhira’s daughter, no matter who she is,” Udaran said with confidence.

image
Muz-Ra looked down at the blinded Khajiit. “You can’t see ANYTHING Kitty?” she sympathized.

“Not a damned thing.  This really sucks you know.  And… it’s a bit scary.  I don’t think I’m going to use this damn cloak much but for warmth!  And I don’t think the clothes underneath are my style either. I don’t think they matter,” Kitty observed.

Udaran tried to console her, “Well, I really thank you Kitty.  All this for someone you don’t even know? It’s pretty noble of you.”

“Thanks Udie.” said Kitty with a wan smile.

image
“You know, it’s a long walk to Helgen and the day’s half over.  I’d rather not travel after dark,” noted Muz-Ra.

“I understand Red, but it can’t be helped.  Atahbah’s already on her way already.  I know her. She’s a nice person, but she’s extremely loyal to Ri’saad,” Udaran responded.

“Then we’ll walk through the night.  Ubergard will keep us safe, won’t you Uber?” asked Muz-Ra to the giant Argonian.

image
The quiet giantess grunted and lifted her huge axe. “Virgindrung and I will, as long as you stay out of her arc.” she stated.

“Virgindrung?  I didn’t know you named your axe Uber! You really were a warrior, weren’t you?” Muz-Ra asked, suprised at the cliche.

“Only those under her protection need to know her name.  Those under her blade learn it too late.” said Ubergard, that wisp of a smile crossing her face for a moment.

image
Muz-Ra turned around and, in almost a whisper, said to Kitty, “I hope WE don’t need to be virgins to be protected!”
“No kidding,” agreed Kitty, adding, “Hey!  I just realized I can see again!”
image
Udaran turned abruptly and began down the steps, “Well then, let’s not waste any time.  We’re off to Helgen!”

“Um…  Udie…  Where’s Helgen?” asked Muz-Ra hopefully.

“Not a clue.” said their fearless leader.

image

Sabhira’s Daughter #11

image
Udaran smiled, “Actually that’s not my plan.  Kitty, are you REALLY as stealthy as you claim?”

“Absolutely,” Kitty confirmed, “Even more so with the Cloak of course.”

image
Udaran nodded, “Ok, listen, if I know Ri’saad, he’s going to send someone out to notify Hasskir soon.”

“But, the cloak is only good for about an hour or so.  And then I go blind for the same period.  There’s no way I can follow someone that far!” protested Kitty.

image
Udaran continued, “You don’t have to.  We only need to know where Hasskir is.  Sneak back and eavesdrop on them.  Ri’saad will probably send someone off right away.  We’ll wait here and when you come back we’ll watch over you till the blindness is gone.” image
“Oh! I see! I’d best go quickly then,” Kitty said, pulling out her cloak and outfit.

“Kitty, don’t forget. You may be invisible, but you can still be heard, and smelled!  Don’t get too close.” Udaran cautioned.

“Got it.  I’ll be back soon.” said a voice from thin air after she had donned the hood.

Udaran shivered, “That’s just weird!”

image
A short time later Kitty saw Ri’saad talking with a female Khajiit.

“What I need you to do, Atahbah, is to find Hasskir. But don’t tell him anything. Just see if his daughter is with him.  If so, try and bring her back here.  If not, try to find out where she is.” Ri’saad instructed.

“So, Hasskir is not to know about the gold?” asked the other Khajiit, apparently named Atahbah.

image
Ri’saad answered, “He is not.  You can give him this small amount.  He may even sell her to you for it.  You’ll have to work out what’s best.  But it’s imperative you bring back his daughter or find her location.  We must negotiate this if we are to profit.” image
Atahbah nodded her understanding, “I’ll leave right away.  Where is he?”

Ri’saad said, “Do so.  But Atahbah, be very careful. He is living with a group of bandits. It would be best if you could contact him away from them.  They are dangerous, and you are precious to me.  Stay safe above all.”

“Have no fear.  I’ve dealt with bandits before.  They know we carry nothing of value away from the caravan.”

“They have moved from their previous hideout to the abandoned town of Helgen,” Ri’saad explained.

Beyond this, Kitty didn’t hear as she started to creep back to her friends, having discovered what she needed to know.

image
“Did you hear something?” Atahbah asked, ears suddenly twitching.

The elder Khajiit shook his head.

“Nevermind.  Anyway, I’m on my way,” Atahbah turned to go.

“Warm sands,” Ri’saad said to Atahbah’s retreating form.

Sabhira’s Daughter #10

image
“Good morning Kitty.  How was your night?” asked Muz-Ra.

Typically Kitty awoke slowly and with great reluctance. But not this morning. “Good morning Red.  It was better than expected!” she replied cheerily.

“No skimpy nightie last night?” Muz-Ra noticed.

“Naa.  I got to bed late and just crashed. How about you?  How’d your date go?”

“Better than expected too!  The guards here in Whiterun seem to be quite fit.  Their endurance is admirable.”

Udaran, sitting on the bed nearby muttered, “Apparently so are the bards.”

image
“Oh?” Muz-Ra raised an eyeridge, “You and Mikael?”

“Just a little fling.  Nothing serious.  But I’m famished!  What do you say we go get some MEAT for breakfast for a change?”

“I think I’ve had my fill for today,” said the Argonian, smiling evilly.

image
Udaran coughed. “Oh jeeze.  Just stop it Red!”

Muz-Ra said quietly to Kitty, “I think Udie could use more meat in her diet.  Oh, I forgot, she’s doesn’t eat meat.  She’s a…”

“THATS ENOUGH!” demanded Udaran.

image
Realizing she had, perhaps, been a bit too emphatic, Udaran lightened up a bit. “Well at least I got something PRODUCTIVE accomplished this morning.  The caravan is back and setting up their camp outside the walls now,” she stated with satisfaction.

“Oh?  Did you talk to them yet?” asked Kitty.

image
“Not yet,” Udaran responded, “They haven’t even set up their camp yet.  You two go get your breakfast.  When you’re done, we’ll go talk to them.”

“Sounds good!” Muz-Ra agreed.

image
Later that morning, just outside the outer walls of Whiterun, Udaran spoke with Ri’saad, the leader of the caravan.

“…so now we’re out to find Sabhira’s daughter.  And you are our only connection with her.  Any information you can provide would be a tremendous help.” she asked hopefully of the elder Khajiit.

“This is a difficult thing.  This one made a promise long ago.  Of course, you could leave the gold with us?” Ri’saad suggested.

“No, that we won’t do.  It isn’t lack of trust in you, but in her father.  I will not rest until I see it delivered directly into the daughter’s hands.  Do you know where she is?” Udaran asked.

“This one does not.  Regretfully, this one cannot assist in your quest.” Ri’saad stated flatly.

“Could gold help to loosen your tongue?  I’m sorry to be so direct, but I must try all I can,” Udaran said earnestly.

“Gold is a good thing, but this one does not make promises to be broken by it.  I am sorry, it cannot be. As a businessman, trust in one’s word is essential. To do so would not be prudent,” Ri’saad replied, “I am sorry I cannot do so.”

image
The party stood to make leave. Muz-Ra said to Udaran, “Well, that’s it then.  Unless you have any other ideas?”

Quietly to Muz-Ra, she replied, “Actually, I do.”

Turning to Ri’saad, Udaran added, “Thank you Ri’saad.  While I cannot give all the gold to you to deliver, perhaps you could take this token bit of gold to her father and pass along the message that we are searching for them?  We will await him for one week at H’s chateau.  After that we may be anywhere in our search.”

Ri’saad confirmed, “This one will deliver the message.”

image
Udaran, used to dealing with Khajiits, added, “AND the gold?”

“Agreed, and the gold.” Ri’saad’s face betrayed a look of feigned offense.

“Then thank you.  May you walk on warm sands,” Udaran concluded with the traditional benediction.

“And you as well.”

image
With that, the group began walking back to the walls of Whiterun.

“Udaran, do you really plan to just go back and wait for someone who may never come?” asked Muz-Ra.

“Yes, this does not seem like a good plan to me either,” Ubergard added, shocking them all into an immediate halt.

Ubergard looked at them suprised. “What?!  I’m quiet.  I’m not mute!” she protested.

Sabhira’s Daughter #9

Later, Mikael and Kitty left the inn to take a late night stroll. image
“Thanks for spending time with me Mikael,” Kitty purred happily, “You HAVE made tonight very special.”

“Oh, that’s my pleasure Kitty.  You’re a great dancer you know!  I think between my music and your dancing, we really put on a show for the patrons!”

“Yeah! I even have a few extra gold coins they handed me!” Kitty enthused.

They continued in silence for a while.

“Mikael, I have to ask you something…” Kitty said hesitantly.

“Sure Kitty, anything,” Mikael offered.

image
“Why did you do it?  Why did you spend time with me tonight?  There were other females there – no doubt prettier than me to Nord eyes.”

Mikael remained silent for a time, considering.

“Because you needed it more.  At least, that’s what I saw. You know what they really teach at the Bard’s college?  How to read people.  The music, the singing, the storytelling – those are the tools we use.  But the talent is in understanding others.  You are lonely.  And you have a lot of guilt about something,” Mikael explained.

image
Kitty considered this a bit, then admitted, “You’re good at your craft.”

“Oh, I know!  I’m slick.  I’m clever.  But I also SEE people.  And I do help when I can.”

To this, Kitty asked, “But I’m NOT people.  Not your people anyway.  Why do you care?”

“Oh.  Now you’re talking about the body.  You’ve just changed the subject completely.  Here, sit down here a minute please,” Mikael said as he lifted her by her waist to a low wall.

image
“You know Kitty,” started the Bard, “You have beautiful fur.  I don’t.  You have a gorgeous tail.  I don’t.  And it’s NOT true those differences don’t matter, because they do!” – Mikael
“But you also have curves I don’t have.  And sure, I have things you don’t have.  Even if you were Nord, we’d still be different.  That’s just the way we were made, not who we are.  Who we are is inside here.”

Pointing to his head, Mikael added, “…and inside here, we are the same.”

image
“But I’ve heard the way some Nords talk Mikael.  To be attracted to a Khajiit, you’d be accused of bestiality!” argued Kitty

“That’s because they think the outside marks a beast.  When it’s what’s inside that marks a beast.  There are members of this town – 100% Nord stock – that, were I attracted to them, would truly make me guilty of bestiality,” Mikael smiled.

“You have a unique view, Mikael, and I thank you for it. I can’t really say Khajiit are much better.

image
"Oh, you’re welcome Kitty.  And sure, I’m unusual in that I see beauty in the Khajiit form as well as Argonian, Nord, even Orc.  And I’m guilty of being male in how I express that appreciation.  But I also can rise above that and see the person inside, which is where something beyond lust resides.”

“You’re… quite deep.  If I were a Nord I’d be blushing right now.”

“But you’re not.  However, I do notice a perceptible bushiness of your tail!”

image
Changing the subject, Mikael said, “Look, it’s getting late and I know you have to be off in the morning.  Let’s go back to the inn.  It’s been a beautiful night, and I thank you for your company at LEAST as much as you do mine.”

“Udaran warned me about you, Bard.  She said you were very smooth.  Yet you’re returning me without so much as a grope or accidental squeeze!  I guess she was wrong about you,” Kitty smiled.

“Don’t tell her otherwise!” laughed Mikael, “I have a reputation to protect! …but really, she’s not wrong you know. Being honest is the smoothest trick of all.”

image
“Mikael…” said Kitty quietly.

“Yes?”

“Come back here,” Kitty requested gently.

And the time for talking was over.

Sabhira’s Daughter #8

image
Udaran led the small group through the main street uneventfully, arriving finally at a sign in front of a large building.

This is the Bannered Mare, Kitty. It’s Whiterun’s main inn and tavern.  The regulars here are used to H’s models dropping in from time to time.  In fact, some of the less inhibited girls have made quite a bit of side money entertaining some of the patrons. Just be aware that not all Nords are fans of Khajiits and Argonians.  But the proprietor has good security and you should have no trouble if you don’t actively try and start it.” Udaran explained.

“No problem there Udie!” Kitty reassured her.

Muz-Ra added, “Once we get settled in, I’ll be going out to meet my boyfriends.  Don’t wait up!”

image
A few eyebrows were raised as the group filed in, but at the arrival of Ubergard, most returned to their drinks.  A bard played a instrumental tune and the quiet returned to normal volume as conversation resumed.

“Could we get a room tonight Hulda?  We’re going to be doing some travelling tomorrow.” said Udaran to a middle-aged woman behind the bar.

“Sure Udie,” replied the barmaid and owner. “Hi Muz-Ra, Uber.  Who’s the new kitten?”

“That’s Kitty.” said Udaran by way of introduction.

“Kitty huh? Somehow I doubt that’s her real name…  Oh, but Mikael’s going to like her!” Hulda said, eyeing Kitty.

image
Udaran asked Hulda, “Don’t let him get too frisky would you?”

“If he got too frisky, he wouldn’t be working here!” assured the proprietress, “You needn’t worry about him, unless you worry about Kitty too.” Then, changing the subject, she added, “The upstairs room is empty, go ahead and unload your stuff there.  With Ubergard here, no one’s going to mess with you tonight.”

Udaran turn and addressed her small group, “Ok girls, we’ve got the room upstairs for tonight.”

image
Later that evening, after they had stowed their gear, all but Ubergard returned to the main room of the inn.

“See you later Kitty, Udie!  Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!” Muz-Ra called as she headed for the door.

Udaran muttered under her breath, “…as if there IS anything.”

“Where’s Uber?” Kitty asked, noting the big Argonian hadn’t followed them downstairs.

“She thought it best if she stay in the room to guard our gear,” said Udaran.

image
After a few more songs, the Bard put down his instrument and walked over to Kitty and Udaran.

“My, but that’s quite an outfit, Lady Khajiit!” he noted to Kitty, “Reveals everything and nothing at once!  What’s your name if I may be so bold?”

“Oh!  Hello.  They call me Kitty.” she answered shyly.

“Well hello Kitty!  I’m Mikael.  What brings you into my life?”

Udaran rolled eyes heavenward, either unnoticed by the Bard or unacknowledged.

“We’re just stopping for the night… Mikael,” answered Kitty as if testing the name on her tongue. “We’re going to meet the caravan in the morning.”

image
“Only one night?  Well, then let me make it a special one for you.  Do you like music?” the Bard asked.

“Sure!” Kitty replied enthusiastically.

“Then let me buy you a drink and I’ll serenade you.  What do you like to drink?” Mikael asked.

“We’re not drinking tonight Bard,” Udaran responded coldly.

“Speak for yourself, Udie!  I’d like some wine, Mikael, and I thank you very much,” stated the younger Khajiit, glaring back at Udaran after he had stepped away.

image
“Well, forgive me for interrupting interspecies love!” Udaran snorted quitely to Kitty.

“Hey, lighten up.  I’m not going to get into trouble.  But a girl likes to get some attention sometimes!” Kitty pointed out.

“Ok lovergirl, but keep on your toes.  Mikael’s a smooth one.” Udaran warned, realizing her matronly response was really not appropriate here. Though young, Kitty needed no chaperone. Silently she cursed herself for overreaching her authority with the girl.

Oh, I think I can handle him.” Kitty assured her.

image
Mikael returned with two glasses of wine, handing one to Kitty.

“Here you are Kitty.  And are you sure nothing for you Udaran?” said the Bard hopefully, “It’s on me.”

“No thanks Mikael.  I think I smell some beef with my name on it.  Have fun Kitty!” Udaran said as she walked towards the kitchen, inwardly realizing she was a third-wheel in this scenario.

image
“So, what shall I play for you Kitty?  Something jaunty perhaps?  Do you like to dance?” Mikael suggested.

“Oh yes!  That would be great!  We don’t dance much over at the chateau.  But… I don’t really know your Nord dances.  I might offend someone,” Kitty warned.

“THAT is not possible, Kitty!” laughed the Bard, “We’ve had H’s girls here before, and – trust me on this – nothing you can do would shock anyone here anymore!”

“Then yes!  Please!” Kitty rose and began to move to Mikael’s song.

image
As the wine began to do it’s work, and Kitty felt more comfortable, she began to truly dance as no one in the Tavern had ever seen before. Though socially she felt somewhat awkward and out-of-place, in her body she knew she was confident. Among Khajiit, most were very lithe and nimble. Kitty would have put the best of them to shame. This was her element and, at least for a while, she revelled in it. image

Sabhira’s Daughter #7

image
The next day found Kitty, Muz-Ra and Udaran at the steps out of the valley, along with Ubergard, the giantess that served as H’s primary guard and enforcer. Along with them, Blue, H and Bhusaran stood by to see them off.

“Well, it looks like a fine morning for a journey’s beginning don’t you think Kitty?” asked Muz-Ra cheerfully.

“I sure hope so!  How… how about you Ubergard?” said Kitty, turning to the huge Argonian, “Are you looking forward to an adventure?”

Ubergard regarded her with curiousity, but gave no reply.

“Well I, for one, am looking forward to it!” Udaran filled the awkward silence. “Is everyone ready to go?  Everyone got their share of our traveling gold stashed away?”

image
“All set here Udie!” Kitty replied gratefully.

“Good idea splitting up the gold too, Udie.  All set here.” replied Muz-Ra

Ubergard remained stolidly silent.

“And Ubergard is always ready,” added Udaran. The smallest flicker of acknowledgement might have been seen on the giantess’ face.

image
“Oh, please be safe you guys!  I’ll be worried sick about you till you come home!” Blue said as she embraced each of them almost apologetically, knowing it was her discovery that had led to this parting.

“YES MOTHER!” all three responded with a good natured jibe.

“Oh, sorry…” came the usual response.

“Ubergard, keep them safe.” said H, addressing Ubergard who simply nodded her acceptance of the charge.

image
With that, the group left Paradise Valley and H’s domain, walking down the hillside towards Whiterun.

“Are we there yet?” Kitty laughed, mimicing a petulant child on a family trip.

“Oh, shut up Kitty,” Udaran shot back. “We’ll get there when we get there!” she said, completing the age-old litany.

So, what can you tell us about Sabhira’s daughter and her father Udie?” asked Muz-Ra.

image
Udaran became serious, “Unfortunately not a whole lot.  Apparently when Sabhira had saved up enough money, she would meet with the caravan that travels between Whiterun and Markarth – that’s Ri’saads caravan – and and entrust it with them to deliver to her daughter’s father, a khajiit named Hasskir.  They supposedly knew how to contact him, though Ri’saad wouldn’t reveal more.”

“Hmm.  Ri’saad may be a tough nut to crack.  You got any plans on how?” asked Muz-Ra.

Udaran looked thoughtful. “Possibly,” she said, enigmatically.  "If not, I’ve got gold.“

image
Finally arriving at Whiterun, the group stood outside it’s massive walls, where the caravan always set up camp.

"Well damn.  No caravan,” observed Kitty.

“Let me go talk to the guards.  They keep pretty good track of the caravan’s comings and goings,” Udaran suggested as she turned to enter the outer wall.

Kitty, Muz-Ra and Ubergard made themselves comfortable while awaiting Udaran’s return.

image
A while later, Udaran returned. “We’re in luck,” she announced, “They’ve been gone about 5 days and are due back from Markarth any day now.”

“I’m suprised the guards even talked with a Khajiit!” said Kitty.

“Fortunately, they both know my work.  Tails readers.” Udaran smiled back.

Kitty snorted, “Readers? Is that what you think they do with Tails?”

But Muz-Ra showed interest. “Oh really?  Do they favor Argonians too do you think?” she asked, “My love life has been pretty sparse lately!”

“You’ll have to ask them that, you oversexed lizard!” Udaran bristled with long-accustomed disdain.

“Undersexed – trust me!” Muz-Ra laughed.

image
“So what do we do now?  I mean, we’re really not TOO far from the chateau.  We COULD just go back,” Kitty asked.

“I’d rather not.” Udaran replied, now taking the role as the leader of the group in earnest. “We can stay at the inn here in Whiterun tonight.”

“But I thought they didn’t allow Khajiit or Argonians inside,” Kitty noted.

“We’ll have to wait till after nightfall, but H’s models have a special status in Whiterun.  As long as we keep to ourselves and don’t come in while the kids are out, they let us in,” Muz-Ra explained.

“So what do we do till then?” asked the young Khajiit.

“Well, you do what you want, I’m off to talk to a couple guards!” Muz-Ra said over her shoulder as she turned and walked purposefully through the outer wall, hips swaying in a parody of human seductiveness.

The light was fading from the sky when she returned.

“Well? Did you get lucky?” Kitty asked at her approach.

Muz-Ran answered with a wink, “No.  Females don’t get lucky Kitty, they GIVE lucky.  But I’ve got a date for tonight!”

“The tall one or the short one?” asked Udaran with mild interest.

“Wrong conjunction,” Muz-Ra leered.

image
Kitty looked confused. “What?” she asked.

“You don’t want to know.” Udaran sighed slightly disgusted.

“oh… OH!” Kitty’s eyes opened with understanding at last.

“You’re a crime against nature Red.” Udaran said as night came on and they all began to walk towards the inner gates.

“I beg to differ, I AM nature!” protested Muz-Ra happily.

“Sure Kitty…” Udaran said, passing the soap to Kitty, “So, I ran the idea past H too.  He really doesn’t approve, but as he said, he can’t stop us.”

“Other than us being gone from the Tails, what’s his problem with it?” Muz-Ra asked.

“He says it’s too dangerous.  But he did make a suggestion.  He thinks we should take Uber.” Udaran explained.

“Ubergard?  I can’t say I’d mind having her along!  Think, she’ll come?”

image
“You know Uber.  She’ll go wherever H asks her to.”

“Yeah.  That’s true.  I’m suprised H would let her though.  The guards here are OK but…”

“Well, the way H puts it, it’s to protect his investment in us,” Udaran concluded, as Kitty got out of the shower.

image
“And to make sure we come back maybe?” added Kitty

“If you choose to see it that way, yeah – I guess so.  But I can’t imagine Uber would try to stop us if we chose not to.” Udaran protested.

image
“I guess…” conceded Kitty, not wholly convinced. image
“Oh, not wearing the new outfit?” Muz-Ra observed.

Kitty answered, “Naa.  Not until I need it.  Speaking of outfits, have you considered what to wear on our trip?  It’s likely to get cold.”

“I’ve been wearing this regularly since Sabhira died. I feel it keeps her memory close,” Udaran said, looking down at her outfit, “But I’ll bring a change of clothes too.”

“I’ve got some old cloaks I’ve kept around for a while we can use if it get’s too cold,” Muz-Ra suggested, adding “and we can always buy some on the way if needed.”

image
“So, when are we leaving?” asked Kitty, now looking forward to the change of scenery.

“I want to get everything together tomorrow, and then we’ll leave at dawn the day after that.” stated Udaran.

“Where to?”

“Well, there used to be a caravan just outside the Whiterun gates.  First we’ll see if they’re still there.  If not, we’ll ask around to see where they were going and see if we can catch up to them.  They may not know much, but it’s a start.”

“Good.  I’m ready for a start!” replied the other Khajiit happily.

Sabhira’s Daughter #6

“Really?!  You can’t see me?” asked Kitty as she looked down at herself.

“Not a hair,” Muz-Ra stated, not quite sure where she should be facing.

Kitty tried a physical test, slapping Muz-Ra’s rump from behind.

“AAAaaaa!” screamed Muz-Ra, “HEY! Don’t do that kitty!  It’s scary!”

image
Kitty apologized quickly, “Sorry Red, I just had to be sure.”

“So… can you see yourself?” asked Muz-Ra, rubbing her butt a bit.

“Yeah.  I look just the same to me.”

“Check a mirror – do you see yourself in a mirror?”

“Lemme check…  Nope, no reflection.  COOL!”

image
“Well, I guess you just became our official scout!” Muz-Ra conceded.

“Yeah! with this I could…  wait…  Hey… HEY!  Wait here, I’ll be back in a minute.  Gotta go do something!” Kitty’s voice trailed off.

“What?  Where are you going?” Muz-Ra asked to the fading voice but there was no reply.

image
After a moment, Muz-Ra’s expression turned to alarm.

“Kitty?  KITTY!  WAIT!  I JUST REMEMBERED!” Muz-Ra called to where she’d last heard Kitty’s fading padding, suddenly concerned.

image
Meanwhile, in the dining area, On-Wanal suddenly sat up as something unusual was taking place right before her eyes.

“Holy SHIT!” she exclaimed, “What the hell!? A floating sweetroll?”

image
Suddenly, pulling back her hood, Kitty was revealed holding the sweetroll with a evil grin on her face.

“SURPRISE! You poor excuse for a theif!” she cried triumphantly, “It’s me!… Um…  Hey…  Who turned out the lights???”

(SPLAT!)

image
Sometime later in the shower, Kitty was explaining to Muz-Ra with Udaran standing nearby, suppressing a giggle.

“…and THAT’S when she smashed the sweetroll in your face?” asked Muz-Ra, trying to sound sincerely concerned.

Kitty answered dejectedly, “Face, body, pretty much all over me! Yeah. Of course, I know she didn’t realize I’d gone blind.”

“I imagine she was pretty upset Kitty.  I don’t think you should blame her,” pointed out Udaran.

“I don’t really. It was a stupid idea. But she’s GOT to know how tough it is to get sticky icing out of fur!”

image
“I doubt she was really thinking much about that. I expect it was pretty much an instinctive reaction,” Muz-Ra explained.

“Well, if nothing else, I’m pretty sure she’s sworn off sweetrolls for life!” Udaran laughed.

“Yeah… me too actually,” Kitty agreed.

image

Udaran changed the subject, “So, at any rate Milahme took the news pretty much as expected.”

“Oh? Is she going to be leaving?” asked Muz-Ra.

“She’s not sure yet,” Udaran answered.  "She’s going to take a few days to consider it I think.“

"That’s a good plan,” Muz-Ra decided.

“Can you pass me that soap again Udie?  This stuff is tough!” asked Kitty from the noise of the shower.
